Simplicityforchildren is a kitchen remodeling contractor in Newport Beach, California. Most of our work happens in big rooms: the open great rooms of Newport Coast, the rebuilt houses of Corona del Mar, and the 1960s and 1970s homes in Eastbluff, Harbor View Hills and Dover Shores where an owner wants the wall between the kitchen and the family room gone.

We got into this corner of the trade because we kept seeing the same thing. A generous kitchen, expensive cabinets, a beautiful slab on a huge island, and a family that still found the room awkward. The finishes were fine. The arrangement was not. The refrigerator was a long walk from the prep area, the island was too deep to reach across, and the sink faced the sofa with every pan in plain view.

So we start where the problems start. Before we talk about door styles or countertop colors, we ask how you actually cook and entertain, who is in the kitchen at the same time, and where your guests end up standing. Then we draw zones, check the clearances, and walk the house to see the kitchen from the rooms that look into it.

How We Work

• Plans before prices. You see a layout and elevation views from the living areas before you are asked to approve a budget for cabinets.
• Honest scope. If a new island or a storage change solves the problem, we will say so rather than sell you a full gut.
• Permits handled in plain terms. When a wall, a circuit or a drain moves, we prepare the drawings, submit to the City of Newport Beach and schedule the inspections.
• Respect for the neighborhood. HOA hours, parking on the Balboa Peninsula and delivery windows are planned before the first day, not argued about on it.
